Stuttgart Ballet returns to London with two programmes showcasing the diversity of its repertory and the versatility of its dancers. One of the world’s leading ballet companies, Stuttgart Ballet has been at the forefront of dance creation for decades, consistently presenting exciting and groundbreaking world premieres by leading and up-and-coming choreographers.

Made in Germany, a mixed repertory evening including seven UK premieres, all created for Stuttgart Ballet, provides the company’s phenomenally talented dancers with the chance to show themselves in a wide range of contemporary work. The evening includes three pieces by company founder John Cranko, and two works by resident choreographer Marco Goecke. This diverse showcase also includes work by British choreographer Douglas Lee, Mauro Bigonzetti, Itzik Galili, Christian Spuck, Demis Volpi, Edward Clug andJohn Neumeier

True to its heritage, the company will also present a classic by its founderJohn Cranko: The Taming of the Shrew, based on William Shakespeare’s famous comedy. Set to a delightful score by Domenico Scarlatti, Cranko’s witty and touching masterpiece is full of spectacular dancing and hilarious, fast paced action.
