In the midst of a raging war, a group of British school children are left stranded after surviving a devastating plane crash. Ralph is voted the leader over outcast Piggy and rule-breaking Jack. As tensions rise and the hunger for power grows, the group divide and become wildly out of control.

Left to fend for themselves, the children are tested to their limits as they struggle for survival in their new and mysterious surroundings.

Directed by Amy Leach (Macbeth, Oliver Twist, Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet), this must-see production will be a modern staging of William Golding’s menacing 20th Century classic.

Very mediocre production. Some standout performances such as Simon, Roger and Piggy. Admirable in its ambition and diversity, but Ralph should NOT have been a girl. If she was a girl pretending to be a boy (as in Shakespeare plays) - that is one thing, but not a girl being a girl called 'Ralph.' This changes the whole play, as Golding famously highlighted the nature of men alone, charged by testosterone and dominance. All of these boys come from boarding school and early indication shows that they have been kept away from the company of females from an early age. We took my daughter to see it as she is doing this for her GCSE's, but we were all sadly underwhelmed.

I found this adaptation a bit simplistic.
