Experience Virginia Woolf like never before in this moving, witty, and dazzingly theatrical adaptation of a modern masterpiece. Mrs Dalloway is created by award-winning director Jen Heyes and Olivier Award-winning artist Kit Green (Tina C, Ida Barr), who also transforms into all 16 roles – including that of Woolf herself.
A single day in June 1923. Upper class socialite Clarissa Dalloway travels across London as she prepares for a party she will be hosting that evening. Across town, war veteran Septimus Smith struggles against the horrors of his own experience and lost autonomy.
Friends, lovers, and enemies; daughters and sons; physicians and teachers; soldiers and clowns. As Clarissa and Septimus confront ghosts of the past and present in their separate worlds, a party brings these many dissonant lives together in a single, fragile, moment.
Fusing drama, live music, film and technical artistry into a fully immersive experience of modern cine-theatre, Mrs Dalloway invites you into Woolf’s world to ask – what makes us who we are?
